About the Role

Tauranga Hospital is seeking two enthusiastic and caring Health Care Assistants to join our remarkable Surgical Ward 3C, working permanent part-time 0.5 FTE (20 hours per week).

Ward 3C provides care for gynaecological, breast care, and surgical patients. As a Health Care Assistant in this setting, you will play a vital role in supporting women through their recovery journey. Working alongside a passionate team of nurses and midwives, you will help ensure a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for every patient.

No two days are the same – this is a space where compassion meets professionalism, and where your contribution will be both valued and visible. Full orientation will be provided, and ongoing education opportunities are available for those who want to grow.

What you will bring:

  • NZ Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (Health Assistant) Level 3
  • A patient-focused approach and the ability to follow clear direction
  • Confidence working both independently and as part of a wider clinical team
  • A flexible mindset and willingness to adapt to a dynamic ward environment
  • A genuine interest in women’s health and surgical recovery support
