The Opportunity:
Senior Advisor - HSE
Reporting to the Manager - HSE, the Sr. HSE Advisor will be responsible for advising on all aspects of health, safety, and environmental practices within our oilfield services operations. The ideal candidate will bring a proactive approach to risk management, regulatory compliance, and HSE culture development to support safe and sustainable business operations.
Core Responsibilities:
- Participate in incident investigations, as well as the systematic identification, assessment and control of hazards and risks within the organization
- Support the implementation of Company HSE initiatives, procedures, standards and programs; Create awareness and training materials (bulletins, videos, alerts)
- Analysis and reporting on trends, statistics, KPI’s – weekly, monthly, annual, etc.
- Participates in the company HSE audit program (COR, internal, site specific)
- Support and advise internal stake holders on OHS, training, registries, and orientations
- Internal HSE platform support and administration: setting up new employees, manage and update modules, review incidents for statistical accuracy, data mining
Other Duties:
- Creating content for weekly safety meetings and distribution to all Sanjel locations, assisting with presentation material (internal and external)
- Reviewing and updating HSE documents, including HSE practices (HSEPs), Instruction Document with Hazard Assessment (IDHAs) and forms, ensuring they are distributed and available to field personnel
- WCB Support: Act as the main point of contact with third party Occupational Health Representatives, and report incidents, assist with return to work, provide annual updates etc.
- Coordinate safety milestones and awards
- Attending field jobs and participating in pre-job safety meetings and/or JSA's
Qualifications:
- CRSP or relevant Health & Safety certification is required; Strong safety experience in the WCSB is a significant advantage
- Experience with investigations, inspections and safety management systems
- Strong technical competence is required; preference given to those with proficiencies in Power BI, ERP platforms etc.
- 7+ years’ experience working in the oilfield industry in a Safety role; Western Canadian Oil and Gas experience is strongly preferred
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills are required
- Content and copy specialists are appreciated
