About the role:
We are looking for an experienced Health, Safety, and Wellbeing (HSW) Lead to join our team in Melbourne to oversee Victorian and Tasmanian operations and corporate. If you are a proactive Health, Safety and Wellbeing professional who is excited about the opportunity to transform safety culture, create a health, safety and wellbeing framework, and ensure quality compliance then this role is for you.
This position is based in Melbourne and requires onsite presence and periodic intrastate and intestate travel.
Reporting into the Executive General Manager of Victorian and Tasmanian Operations, your responsibilities in this role will include but are not limited to:
  • Large component of workplace injury and return to workday to day management and strategy
  • Transform and contemporise the businesses health, safety and wellbeing culture
  • Oversee and maintain the Victorian and Tasmanian quality and safety management systems
  • Provide specialist advice on health, safety, wellbeing and quality assurance compliance and risk management to stakeholders at various levels
  • Maintain a sound knowledge of current health, safety, wellbeing and quality assurance legislation, regulations, policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Facilitate audits to ensure health, safety, wellbeing and quality assurance systems and activities are implemented, effective, and in accordance with legislative and business requirements, including maintenance of the following certifications: ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and AS4801
  • Facilitate processes and provide advice and support across injury and incident management
  • Manage Workers Compensation claims and liaise with key stakeholders, work towards achieving optimal outcomes for Return to Work claims
  • Support injured workers, educate leaders, attend RTW meetings, create RTW plans and ensure implementation, collaborate with agent/treaters to support recovery
What we are looking for:
Essential
  • Experience in transforming and contemporising a health, safety, wellbeing and quality assurance culture
  • Demonstrable experience in management of health, safety, wellbeing and quality assurance management systems
  • Verified skills in managing Workers Compensation claims, injury claims and Return to Work processes
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to build, maintain and develop strong stakeholder and client relationships
  • Well-organised and self-motivated with the ability to prioritise in a face paced environment
  • Current drivers licence
  • Full Australian working rights
  • Be willing to undergo a National Police check
Desired
  • Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety
  • Return to Work certification
  • 3-5+ years experience within RTW, Injury Management and Safety
