We are currently looking to add a hardworking, enthusiastic HSE Advisor to our Team. The HSE Advisor is responsible for overall safety at the site and ensuring staff are compliant with AMAN’s Safety Program and any other applicable safety regulations.

Principle Duties & Responsibilities

Include but are not limited to:

  • Managing the development and execution of health and safety procedures by reviewing; Job Hazard Assessments, Safe Work Practices, Safe Job Procedures and COR Audits.
  • Developing strategies to control risks in the workplace by evaluating and monitoring health and safety hazards.
  • Identifying workplace safety hazards by conducting safety and environmental audits.
  • Resolving health-and-safety-related issues by investigating; complaints, spills of hazardous chemicals, outbreaks of diseases or poisonings, and workplace accidents.
  • Monitoring work site safety by inspecting construction sites to ensure that specifications and building codes are observed.
  • Ensuring safety risk reduction tools meet code standards by inspecting on site equipment, including fire extinguishers.
  • Ensuring deficiencies or substandard conditions are corrected in a timely manner by conducting environmental safety audits.
  • Mitigating safety risks by ensuring an adequate supply of appropriate PPE equipment is onsite and available at all times.
  • Strengthening professional relationships by collaborating with all key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Supporting team communication by preparing and delivering regular safety toolbox meetings.
  • Safeguarding the equipment, materials, and production processes by mitigating risks of safety or health hazard to employees and the general public.
  • Leading a strong health and safety culture by developing, implementing, and evaluating health and safety programs and strategies.
  • Supporting health and safety compliance by acting as a membership of the health and safety committee and facilitating monthly meetings.
  • Ensuring the maintenance of certifications by monitoring, identifying expiries and facilitating recertification training.
  • Enhancing safety awareness by delivering training programs and orientation sessions to construction crew.
  • Ensuring facilities administration responsibilities by preparing reports on all health and safety incidences, near misses, discriminatory actions, investigations, and leading and lagging indicators.
  • Managing all safety files by ensuring site crew are submitting paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Enhancing productivity by providing suggestions to refine workflow and boost efficiency.
  • Supporting administration by completing required paperwork, and other documentation as required.

Knowledge & Skills Required

Include but are not limited to:

  • A minimum of 5-years previous experience in Safety Management in the construction industry.
  • Must have a basic understanding of construction principles and procedures.
  • Previous commercial and/or institutional construction experience is required.
  • Must be National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) certified.
  • Must have a valid Internal Auditor certification.
  • WHIMIS train the trainer certification is required.
  • Must possess a valid Standard First Aid Level C with AED or higher, Advanced First Aider is preferred.
  • Must possess a valid and clean driver’s license & willing to work out of town.
  • Must hold strong communication skills, both verbally and written.
  • Must be highly organized and able to prioritize responsibilities.
  • Must have a proven ability to take initiative and be respectful of diversity.
  • Must have a strong service orientation with a focus on respect and reputation.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00-$95,000.00 per year
