TAKK Equipment Rentals is seeking a skilled and dependable Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our shop team. This position is based in our Indus facility and focuses on maintaining, repairing, and inspecting a diverse fleet of heavy equipment, trucks, and trailers. A key responsibility of this role is performing Commercial Vehicle Inspection Program (CVIP) inspections and ensuring all equipment meets safety and regulatory requirements.We welcome applications from experienced Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanics as well as qualified apprentices with relevant hands-on experience. The ideal candidate will have strong diagnostic abilities, attention to detail, and experience working in a busy shop environment.What You'll Do

• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment, trucks, and trailers
• Diagnose and troubleshoot hydraulic, mechanical, electrical, and engine-related issues
• Conduct Commercial Vehicle Inspection Program (CVIP) inspections in accordance with Alberta regulations
• Complete repairs required to bring equipment into compliance with inspection standards
• Inspect equipment and identify maintenance requirements proactively
• Maintain accurate service records, inspection reports, and repair documentation
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe
• Support fleet readiness by ensuring equipment is maintained to company standards

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 2 years of hands-on heavy equipment, truck, or trailer repair experience
• Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic certification preferred
• Valid Alberta CVIP Inspection License is required
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• Experience with hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems
• Valid Class 5 driver's license
• Legally authorized to work in Canada
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
