Job Summary:
Plum Northeast is seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Heavy Forklift Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts to move, locate, relocate, and stack large steel products and materials within our production facility. The Forklift Operator will also inspect equipment and adhere to all company and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts or other material handling equipment to load, unload, and transport materials.
- Move steel containers and materials to appropriate storage areas or production lines.
- Load trucks with large steel containers.
- Unload truckloads of large steel materials such as sheet metal, structural channel and rectangle steel tubing.
- Inspect forklifts daily to ensure proper functioning and report maintenance needs.
- Follow company safety policies and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized warehouse and material storage yard.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production and delivery schedules.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience operating forklifts or other material handling equipment.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and safety protocols.
- Ability to lift objects up to 50 lbs. and work in varying environmental conditions.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $25.00 per hour
