Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Machinery Operator/ Forman to join our construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating a variety of heavy equipment to support construction projects, ensuring safety, efficiency, and precision on-site. Your expertise will help drive project success by managing machinery such as excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and dump trucks. Duties
- Operate heavy machinery including excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, water trucks, dump trucks, and paving equipment with precision and safety.
- Conduct pre-operation inspections to ensure machinery is in optimal working condition.
- Follow all safety protocols and construction site regulations to maintain a safe work environment.
- Assist with site preparation, grading, excavation, material hauling, and paving activities as needed.
- Coordinate with team members and supervisors to execute project plans efficiently.
- Maintain accurate logs of machine usage, maintenance needs, and operational reports.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
- Occasional laboring when needed.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators (including horizontal drilling), dozers (including Caterpillar models), loaders, backhoes, graders, water trucks, dump trucks, and paving machinery.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of heavy machinery systems and components.
- Valid commercial driver’s license with experience driving large construction vehicles.
- CDL drivers license
- Construction site experience demonstrating familiarity with safety standards and operational procedures.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
- Knowledge of construction materials and processes related to paving and grading projects.
