Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Heavy Tow Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing reliable roadside assistance, transporting vehicles, and ensuring customer satisfaction. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to handle various automotive situations with professionalism.
Duties
- Operate tow trucks to transport vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Respond promptly to roadside assistance calls, including breakdowns, accidents, and other vehicle emergencies.
- Assess the situation upon arrival and determine the best method for towing or assisting the vehicle.
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating clearly with clients and addressing their needs.
- Perform basic mechanical repairs or troubleshooting on vehicles when necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of services rendered and any incidents that occur during towing operations.
- Ensure that all equipment is in good working condition and report any maintenance needs promptly.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations while operating the tow truck.
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial driving is preferred, with a valid commercial driver's license (CDL).
- Background in automotive repair is a plus, providing an understanding of vehicle mechanics.
- Towing experience required.
- Strong customer service skills are essential for interacting positively with clients during stressful situations.
- Mechanical knowledge is advantageous for diagnosing issues quickly and effectively while on the job.
- Tow truck experience an asset
