Construction

CPP is Australia’s leading provider of end-to-end substation solutions for utilities and the renewable energy sector, delivering design, installation, and maintenance services up to 500kV. Specialising in both greenfield and brownfield projects, we have successfully delivered over 100 HV substations nationwide.

As the country’s most experienced contractor in Balance of Plant (BoP) services, we have connected more wind farms and battery storage systems (BESS) to the grid than any other provider. Our one-stop-shop approach covering design, civil, manufacturing, electrical works, grid connection, and commissioning, ensures seamless project delivery.

The Opportunity

As part of our continued growth and unwavering commitment to safety, we are seeking a High Voltage Operating Coordinator (HVOC) to support our High Voltage Operating Authority (HVOA) across multiple projects.

In this role, you will assist in coordinating and facilitating high-voltage electrical operations, working closely with project teams and HV electricians to ensure all work is planned, communicated, and executed safely. You will be responsible for preparing and reviewing switching programs, maintaining documentation, performing switching operations, issuing access permits and ensuring compliance with relevant procedures and standards. This role is critical in maintaining the integrity and safety of our high-voltage systems, while supporting the HVOA in the effective oversight of HV operations.

Skills and Experiences:
About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess:
  • Nationally accredited High Voltage Switching Operator certificate
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant industry experience
  • Strong decision making skills with the ability to make critical judgments regarding high-voltage operations and able to clearly justify your actions.
  • Familiarity with Electrical Safety Acts/Rules and Regulations applicable to Australian States. Strong knowledge of HV substation operations and maintenance
  • Experience in preparing HV Switching programs, permits and protocols.
