Higher Level Teaching Assistant (Hlta) Or Teaching Assistant

Open Arms Ltd is a quality Alternative Education Providers based on a relaxed farm setting.

Open Arms Ltd provides a nurturing and yet stimulating learning environment for students of 11-16 years for whom mainstream education does not work.

The right candidate would support the class teacher in a class of no more than 10 students and also be prepared to take on some occasional teaching duties themselves. They will be working alongside the class teacher and one other TA.

The morning consists of maths, english, PSHE and topic work.

Afternoons consist of practical activities on site or off site. Participating in fun activities such as trampolining, cooking, art and crafts, bowling, rock climbing to name a few.

The days are shorter than in mainstream with staff required to be on site from 9 am - 3 pm. Staff support the students all day.

An ideal candidate should:

*be able to work well as team

*have experience of working with students with social/emotional and behavioral needs

*show an empathetic and nurturing attitude towards the students they work with

*have a good knowledge of maths and english

*be proactive in planning and creating fun and stimulating learning opportunities

*enjoy sport and or have an interest in art, craft, cooking, music - be creative!

*possess a good sense of humour!

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to £25,000.00 per year
