Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Highway Driver to operate automatic transmission dry vans and transport freight across designated routes, including cross‑border runs into the United States. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial driving, with proven experience in dry van operations, cross‑border compliance, and handling automatic trucks. This role involves delivering freight efficiently and safely while adhering to all transportation regulations and company policies. The Highway Driver will play a critical role in ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks across assigned Canadian and U.S. routes.
- Manage cross‑border shipments, ensuring compliance with CBP, CBSA, and other regulatory requirements.
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment when necessary.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs in compliance with federal and state/provincial regulations.
- Conduct pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance.
- Follow designated routes efficiently while adhering to traffic laws and safety protocols.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding delivery schedules, route changes, or issues encountered on the road.
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance checks and report any mechanical issues promptly.
- Ensure cargo is secured properly to prevent damage during transit.
- Comply with all safety standards related to driving large commercial vehicles and cross‑border operations.
Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience in truck driving, specifically dry van operations.
- Ability to confidently operate automatic transmission trucks (no manual shifting required).
- Experience with freight load/unload procedures using forklifts or other equipment.
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws and safety regulations for commercial drivers in both Canada and the U.S.
- Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record.
- Ability to manage time effectively to meet delivery deadlines.
- Strong communication skills for coordinating with dispatchers and clients.
- Physical ability to load/unload freight and perform vehicle inspections as needed.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $6,500.00-$7,000.00 per month
