Our team brings the Gold Rush era to life through immersive retail experiences, interpretive storytelling, and culturally grounded products — including Indigenous-made and locally sourced goods.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Manager: Eldorado leads one of the most beloved and energetic experiences at Barkerville — live gold panning demonstrations combined with a culturally grounded gift shop. This year-round hourly role oversees outdoor gold panning operations, school and group programs, gift shop retail, and a team of seasonal associates. WHAT YOU'LL DO

● Lead daily gold panning demonstrations and hands-on visitor experiences

● Ensure all outdoor panning operations are safe, engaging, and educationally grounded

● Support school programs, group bookings, and heritage interpretation

● Oversee Eldorado Gift Shop retail operations including Indigenous-designed product lines

● Supervise and support 6 seasonal associates

● Maintain water troughs, panning stations, signage, and outdoor equipment

● Capture and share "moments of excitement" for Eldorado social media

● Lead knowledge transfer from the outgoing operations team

WHAT YOU BRING

● 2+ years of retail, outdoor education, or visitor attraction leadership experience

● Comfort working outdoors in varying weather conditions (required)

● First Aid Level 1 (asset)

● WHMIS certification (required or willingness to obtain)

● Genuine enthusiasm for hands-on, experiential visitor engagement

● Ability to lead and mentor a seasonal team

● A year-round role combining outdoor adventure with heritage retail leadership

● $25.00 – $27.00/hr | 4% vacation pay on each cheque | Bi-weekly pay

● Period-appropriate costume / uniform provided

● Located in the stunning Cariboo Mountains of Wells, BC
