We are in need of a Herd Manager who have at least 3 years NZ dairy experience or have at least level 4 NZ qualification. Applicants should state there entitlement to work in NZ. Applicants must be in NZ only.
Job Description:
· Milking cows
· Mastitis detection and treatment
· Identification of cycling cows
· Repairs and maintenance to water reticulation
· Moving the effluent irrigator
· Operation of milking plant and conduct milking plant washes
· Dairy hygiene
· Calf rearing
· Mixing chemicals and weed control
· Operation of tractor, loader, feed out wagon, urea spreader and trailer (Not until extensive training is undertaken)
· Feeding of supplement
· Fencing
· Other General farm work
No. of Cows: 1000
Farm Size: 350 Hectares
Shed Type: 54 bail rotary
Roster: 6-1 during the month of August to reflect the peak calving on-farm demand. Otherwise the roster is 8-2, 8-2, 7-3
Rent deducted $180 per week on a shared accommodation
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $29.66 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 45 per week
Schedule:
- Shift work
