Job Responsibilities Homemaker

• Effectively deliver homemaking services, including light housekeeping, laundry, dishwashing, and light meal preparation.
• Help clients maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic home environment
• Adhere to SFC principles, policies, values, and guidelines.
• Communicate honestly and effectively with clients, caregivers, and colleagues.
• Apply critical thinking and best practices to ensure safety and client satisfaction.
• Prepare updates, progress reports, and incident reports for supervisory staff.
• Maintain a safe and respectful workplace free from violence, hate and harassment.
• Participate in training, education, and continuous process improvement
• Use a personal mobile device and maintain a cellular data subscription to meet work application requirements
• Perform other duties as assigned within the reasonable scope of the job.

Educational and/or Professional Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent

Hospitality industry training/experience is an asset

Customer service experience is an asset

Experience:

• 3 months of experience providing homemaking services to seniors in a community setting (preferred).
• Hospitality industry experience (an asset).

Skills and Attributes:

• Fluent in English (verbal, written, and reading comprehension).
• Ability to work independently and contribute to a team.
• Multitasking and time-management skills.
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
• Emotional intelligence and conflict resolution in the scope of providing services
• Oral fluency in other languages is a definite asset

Significant Working Conditions:

• Ability to lift, carry, or pull up to 25 lbs. with assistance.
• Ability to travel within Ottawa.
