Homeless Advocate

We are looking for a Homeless Advocate to join our team!

Education: Bachelor’s degree in sociology, psychology or related field and/or Experience: Four years experience in human services

SKILLS: Excellent communication skills, ability to read, understand and interpret government regulations; computer skills; ability to relate well to low income people.

BASIC FUNCTION: Responsible for assisting homeless and at risk households in finding and retaining stable housing

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: The ideal candidate must be hard working, reliable, possess the ability to assist and advocate for clients in need in a non-judgmental way. Works well with a team and independently. Responsibilities : Staff will assess clients strengths and suitability for the program, screen for eligibility, encourage self-sufficiency through assisting with establishing attainable goals, conduct regular visits with enrolled families, provide referrals, support, and advocacy to assist with attaining goals, maintain case files, and attend regular staff meetings. Staff will be responsible for tracking funds and maintaining accurate data and client files.

Salary range $22.05-$25.17 per hour.

35 hours per week.
