The Franklin County Auditor’s Office is seeking a Homestead Team Lead to join the Real Estate team.

The Franklin County Auditor’s Office is dedicated to serving the community by ensuring fairness and
accuracy in weight and measures across the county. Our mission is to protect and empower consumers,
making sure they receive what they rightfully pay for at gas pumps and retail store scanners. As a trusted

taxes, while also working to provide tax relief for senior and citizens who are disabled. We understand

What will you do?

Performs lead work and assists the supervisor in managing the work (e.g., schedules and assigns tasks;
attends or participates in meetings where policy questions are reviewed or discussed; in collaboration
with the supervisor, develops and implements policy; recommends policy changes). Serves as lead
Homestead specialist and trainer; ensures team members are properly trained; teaches, explains, assists
and mentors staff (e.g., workflow processes and timelines of real estate and Homestead department);
tracks workflow on a regular basis to meet department goals. Communicates with the supervisor
regarding daily responsibilities, calendar and workload. Serves as the subject matter expert (SME) for the
Homestead department, atENT, Just Appraised and any other related systems used in the department.
Provides information to, and answers questions from constituents; assists walk-in, email and telephone
customers with Homestead, Owner-Occupied Credit and Rental Registration inquiries.

Administers the Homestead Exemption program (e.g., processes Homestead applications; prepares and
reviews Homestead spreadsheets and transfer edit reports; reviews applications for accuracy; follows up
on pending applications; prepares documents for scanning, scans batches of Homestead applications,
and indexes appropriately).

Administers the Owner-Occupied Credit program (e.g., processes Owner-Occupied applications; reviews
for accuracy; follows up on pending applications; provides information to taxpayers; prepares documents
for scanning and indexing).

Administers the Rental Registration program (e.g., processes Rental Registration applications; reviews for
accuracy; follows up on pending applications; provides information to taxpayers; prepares documents for
scanning and indexing).

Assists with administering the Homestead continuing qualifying and Rental Registration annual mass
mailings (e.g., prepares and reviews mailers for accuracy, tracks responses, follows up on pending
applications, and processes returned mail).

Completes, organizes, files, routes, and sorts a variety of documents; maintains files and correspondence
of both a routine and confidential nature.

Who should apply?

Possession of an associate’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field; two (2) or
more years of related experience and/or training; or any combination of training, education, or
experience which provides the desired knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions
of this position.

Must possess and maintain valid Ohio driver's license and have an acceptable driving record; must
comply with the FCAO Driving Policy.
