Horticulture - Perennial Sales & Maintenance

Sam Bridge Nursery & Greenhouses, a top 50 garden center, nursery & landscape firm, is looking for a knowledgeable sales associate to work in our Perennial Department.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Selling Perennial plants, some Trees & Shrubs, Annuals
• Merchandising plant material on benches and displays
• Daily watering and basic plant care
• Some planting
• Assisting in shipping and receiving of plant material
• Pricing new plant material
• Loading of customer vehicles
• Checking out customers via Point-of-Sale system
• Communicating with customers about current availability via phone and email
• Inventory tracking
• Adding Signage to plants and plant displays.

Applicants should:

• Be a motivated self-starter
• Be ready to work in a team environment
• Have exceptional communication skills. You should be a people person
• Prior sales experience a must
• Having good working knowledge of plants and best management practices in the landscape is a huge plus
• Be able to lift 25+ lbs repeatedly
• Enjoy working outside in a variety of weather conditions
• Have a valid driver’s license
• Prior garden center experience preferred but not required
• An education in horticulture is a plus
• Bilingual, English and Spanish is a plus

Job Type: Full-time March - December

Salary: $22-$27 an hour

• 8 hour shift
• Overtime
• Saturdays and some Sundays during busy seasons
