Hospital Aide – Birthing Suite

- Shifts – Monday to Sunday, Morning, Afternoon and Nights

About the Role
A Hospital Aide position plays a key role in the effective functioning of the ward. We have a high turnover of patients and work within a fast-paced environment. We are looking for a Hospital Aide to assist Midwifery and Nursing staff whilst maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
You will be responsible for:
- Cleaning and making up birthing rooms
- Cleaning and preparing theatres
- Ward cleaning and stocking
- Ordering food and linen supplies
- Delivering patient meals.
This position on birthing suite has minimal patient contact.
The service operates Monday to Sunday - Morning 6:30am – 3pm, Afternoon 2:30pm – 11pm and Nights 10:30pm – 7am.
About the Service
The Christchurch Women’s Hospital provides maternity services that are specialised to provide care to women who have medical problems or are experiencing complications in their pregnancy.
About you
You will enjoy working as part of a multidisciplinary team, have excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, a high level of confidentiality, and the ability to work well under pressure.
- Ability to work all shifts – Morning, Afternoon and Nights
- Ability to be flexible Monday to Sunday
- Honesty and Integrity
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to engage well
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a multidisciplinary team
- Initiative and a proactive approach to work
- Ideally experience as a Hospital Aide or similar
