Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and professional Host/Hostess to create a welcoming atmosphere for our guests. The ideal candidate will excel in providing exceptional guest services, managing reservations, and ensuring smooth seating operations. This role is vital in delivering a positive first impression and maintaining high standards of hospitality within our restaurant or hotel environment. Previous experience in food service or hospitality is preferred, along with strong communication skills and a polished phone etiquette.

Duties

Greet guests warmly upon arrival and manage reservations efficiently
Escort guests to their tables and provide menus while explaining specials or promotions
Manage waitlists and seating arrangements to optimize table turnover
Handle guest inquiries courteously both in person and over the phone
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host/hostess station
Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure timely service
Operate POS systems when necessary
Assist with general hospitality duties to enhance guest experience, including accommodating special requests

Skills

Strong guest services and customer service skills with a friendly demeanor
Previous experience in serving, hospitality, or food service preferred
Knowledge of restaurant operations, including POS systems
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Phone etiquette proficiency for handling reservations and guest inquiries professionally
Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Experience with hotel or restaurant environments is a plus but not required
Professional appearance and positive attitude to represent the establishment effectively

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.20 per hour

Expected hours: 7 – 30 per week
