Job Title: Hotel Sales Manager
Location: Radisson Lackawanna Station Hotel, Scranton Pa.
Reports To: Director of Sales / General Manager
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: Competitive Salary based on experience
Position Overview:
The Hotel Sales Manager is responsible for overseeing the sales operations of the hotel. This includes developing strategies to drive revenue, identifying new business opportunities, managing key accounts, and maintaining relationships with clients to ensure consistent bookings and growth in hotel sales. The role requires a dynamic individual who can work across various business segments including corporate, group, leisure, and events.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales Strategy & Execution:
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies to meet or exceed hotel revenue goals.
- Conduct market research to identify potential new markets and sales opportunities.
- Monitor competition, analyze market trends, and adjust strategies to stay ahead of market demands.
- Forecast and track sales performance, adjusting plans as needed to meet targets.
- Client Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain relationships with new and existing clients, including corporate accounts, travel agents, event planners, and group organizers.
- Conduct site tours for prospective clients, showcasing the hotel's facilities and services.
- Respond to customer inquiries promptly and professionally.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions for clients, ensuring contracts are aligned with hotel policies.
- Event & Group Sales:
- Manage group bookings, conferences, and events, ensuring client satisfaction and maximizing revenue potential.
- Coordinate with the operations team to ensure smooth delivery of services for events and group bookings.
- Collaboration & Reporting:
- Collaborate with the operations team to ensure smooth booking processes and client satisfaction.
- Provide regular sales performance reports to the Director of Sales
- Networking & Business Development:
- Represent the hotel at trade shows, conferences, and networking events to build the hotel's visibility and drive new business.
- Establish strong partnerships with local businesses, organizations, and tourism boards to increase booking potential.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in hotel sales, with a strong background in business development and account management.
- Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets.
- Skills:
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong understanding of hotel operations and the hospitality industry.
- Proficient in Opera, Cvent, STS and Lanyon
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Personal Attributes:
- Customer-focused with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated, results-driven, and proactive.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
Additional Requirements:
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
