About The Position
Position Location: Port Augusta
Position Status: Full Time

The Supported Residential Care service provides accommodation and support for children and/or young people who are under the Guardianship of the Chief Executive and cannot live at home with their families, or with foster or kinship carers.
Working within a therapeutic framework we address the previous trauma, abuse and/or neglect that young people in our care may have experienced. Our service promotes positive attitudes and lifestyle choices with the aim of improving confidence, self-esteem, social and living skills.
The House Supervisor is responsible for coordinating the day to day functions of the house. They work in partnership with the Team Leader and other stakeholders to provide a safe, secure and supportive living and learning environment for children and/or young people living in the home. The House Supervisor works closely with Support Workers to provide support and to ensure the therapeutic framework is applied consistently. Normal working hours for this position are Monday to Friday, business hours.

Skills and Experiences:
You will:
- Have the ability to work with children and young people with high and complex needs.
- Be an experienced Leader / Supervisor or you will have demonstrated potential to be a leader, through providing leadership and support in a team environment.
- A high level of support provided by a team of professionals.
- Regular specialised training, supervision and debriefing.
- An opportunity to work within a highly therapeutic framework.
- A current Australian Drivers Licence is essential.
- Satisfactory clearance by the Department of Human Services (DHS) for Working with Children Check.
- Hold a current DHS NDIS Worker Check
- Certificate IV (or above) in Child, Youth and Family Intervention, Youth Work or similar.
- National Police Clearance (current within 3 months).
- A current Safe Environments for Children and Young People (Through Their Eyes) Certificate.
- A current Provide First Aid Certificate.
- Therapeutic Crisis Intervention Certificate.
- Understanding the impact of abuse and trauma, including brain development, attachment disorder and trauma related behaviours.
You may also need to be available for some out of hours work and travel between Uniting Country SA sites or interstate as required.
