Housekeeper Job Description:

Purpose of this Position:

The Housekeeper is a member of the Quality Control team, which ensures Ste. Anne’s facilities and guest suites are clean, sanitary and hygienic on a consistent basis. This is an absolutely essential role to play in ensuring Ste. Anne’s provides a relaxing atmosphere to guests, in accordance with Four-Diamond hotel standards. As Ste. Anne’s consists of the Main Inn and several offsites, the Housekeeper is on their feet and walking consistently, and driving frequently. They will perform a wide variety of physical movements and activities to fulfill the duties of their role.

Job Summary:

• Full-time and Part-time positions available
• Wage: $21.00
• Paid bi-weekly

Responsibilities:

• Dust and wipe down surfaces
• Scrub toilets and bathroom fixtures
• Vacuum, sweep and mop floors
• Remove and/or organize garbage and recycling, laundry or dishes
• Clean and organize furniture and accessories, e.g. make bed, remove stains, fluff pillows/shams, etc.
• Replace and/or organize amenities, e.g. robes, chocolates, etc.
• Replace/restock supplies, e.g. toilet paper, Kleenex, shower caps, etc.
• Wash, shake out or dust mats, e.g. welcome mats, shower mats, etc.
• Report maintenance issues, damages or safety concerns to a supervisor
• Follow health and safety procedures at all times, e.g. wear proper PPE, handle chemicals responsibly, use safe working practices, etc.
• Maintain organized cleaning carts and supplies

Job Requirements:

• Able to stand for extended periods of time
• Able to walk for extended periods of time
• Able to squat, kneel, twist and crawl as required
• Able to climb staircases, step-stools and ladders as required
• Able to lift 18 kg / 40 lbs
• Availability to work weekends, evenings and holidays as required

Qualifications:

• A valid G Driver’s license
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Commercial cleaning experience is preferred
• Experience in the hospitality industry is preferred
