Trades Specialist IV (KC40/61122795/ PCLS202400405), full-time position with benefits. SC State Pay Band: 05. Salary range: $38,985.00 (minimum) -$55,559.00 (midpoint). Normal work hours are Monday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Must be flexible to meet the special scheduling needs of the university.
Duties
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Performs high-level painting and journey-level trade skills in the maintenance and repair of surfaces, equipment, and facilities.
Performs custodial, quality assurance, inventory management, moving, and administrative functions.
Collaborates on projects and processes, including planned, preventative, and unexpected work.
Maintains safe working environment, including responsible practices and risk mitigation.
Responds to facilities emergencies, including on-call support for housing staff.
Qualifications
- Required: High school diploma or equivalent, at least two years of general trade experience, and at least three years professional painting experience. Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable three-year driving record.
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Must understand how to collaborate within a multi-skilled team. Must understand and utilize best practices for painting, finishing, and maintaining a variety of interior and exterior surfaces. Must understand how to mitigate risks and follow safety procedures. Must be able to multi-task, make good decisions, maintain working relationships. Must have knowledge of maintenance tools, equipment, materials, and techniques. Must be able to wear variety of personal protection equipment, including footwear, gloves, mask, eye protection, and other. Must be able to communicate, written and oral, with variety of stakeholders. Must be able to learn, problem-solve, and make emergency repairs. Must be able to utilize technology, software, and devices to manage and document work. Must be able to drive a motor vehicle, electric vehicle, and golf cart.
