Description:
We are seeking an experienced and collaborative housing professional to join our Housing Operations team as a Housing Operations Team Leader. Reporting to the Manager, Housing Operations, this role leads the delivery of high-quality, compliant and resident-focused tenancy management services across a diverse portfolio.
Key responsibilities:
Lead day-to-day tenancy management operations across current and emerging programs
Ensure services meet all regulatory, contractual, legislative and internal requirements
Monitor and report on key performance indicators and operational outcomes
Provide expert advice and guidance on complex tenancy matters, including disputes, breaches and tribunal or court proceedings
Support effective rental income management and portfolio optimisation in line with HCA policy
Coach, mentor and develop team members to build capability and performance
Collaborate with Allocations, Property Services, Rental Compliance, Finance and other teams to deliver coordinated services
Identify operational risks and contribute to mitigation and continuous improvement initiatives
Maintain accurate and timely records within the tenancy management system
Skills and Experiences:
About you
You will bring:
Sound knowledge of the community housing sector, tenancy legislation and relevant regulatory frameworks, including the Residential Tenancies Act
Demonstrated leadership experience, including coaching, mentoring and performance management
Proven experience in housing management or a comparable role within the public, community, housing or transferable sector
Experience managing complex tenancy issues and providing high-quality customer service
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including mediation and conflict resolution
Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data to inform decisions
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
High level integrity, professionalism and sound judgement
Sensitivity to and understanding of issues affecting socially disadvantaged groups, including people experiencing housing stress, people with disability and culturally and linguistically diverse communities
Willingness to undertake relevant screening and employment checks
Current driver’s licence and willingness to travel across HCA sites, including interstate, as required
You must agree to undergo any required employment screening, including but not limited to a National Criminal History or Police Check, Working with Children or Vulnerable Persons Check, and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
