Hr Assistant

Due to continued growth of the Company we are looking to recruit a HR Assistant to join our established Human Resources function.

The successful candidate will be expected to provide administrative support to the HR Team on a day to day basis, in order to support the overall HR function.

It involves providing clerical and administrative support to department Managers and the HR Advisors on a day to day basis.

Compiling and updating employee’s records from the beginning of the employment life cycle to the end is paramount, therefore strong administrative skills are essential, along with the ability to be able to prioritise workloads.

This position would suit someone who is looking to handle a variety of personnel related administrative duties, but whom is also looking to develop their exposure and skills into an advisory capacity longer term.

The role will require the successful candidate to be able provide smooth communication and prompt resolution of generalist HR queries. They will be involved in supporting recruitment, Induction, wellbeing, planning events, training and engagement sessions, policy development, and generally supporting the good management of HR-related correspondence on a day by day basis.

It will be be a varied role. Ultimately, applicants should be able to provide support to the HR team and Departmental Managers to ensure the department is organised and operates to attract, hire and maintain the best employees.

Applicants must have a good educational background and have previously held a HR Assistants position or similar. Alternatively, a recently qualified CIPD qualification and a willingness to learn would remove the necessity for previous experience.

As the role will be diverse it will provide exposure to a range of activities, so will be ideal for someone who is looking to develop their knowledge and skills further.

We’re looking for someone who will have the drive and enthusiasm to maximise their potential whilst contributing to the overall team efforts.

Typical Key Areas of Responsibility

· Supporting the day to day administrative operations of the HR function and duties.

· Ensuring 100% accuracy with documents, data input into the HR software and maintaining electronic personnel records.

· Updating personnel records and documentation

· Coordinating communication with candidates for interviews

· General office administrative tasks

· Answering the phones, and covering reception in the absence of the F/T receptionist.

· Providing advice and guidance to personnel with regards to standard terms and conditions, policies and procedures.

· Dealing with any employee requests regarding human resource issues and record any actions taken by reference to creation of file notes.

· Absence monitoring, support managers and employees with any return to work requirements following any spells of absence.

· Issuing/co-ordinating completion of recording annual Employee Development Reviews/training outcomes.

· Support the biweekly Induction Programme of newly recruited employees

· Headcount reporting (starters, departmental movers, leavers reports)

Other Significant Role Requirements:

· Ability to maintain strict levels of confidentiality

· HR administrative skills

· Excellent organisational skills

· Confidence to assist with all parts of the employment life cycle

· Comfortable working independently

· Being self-motivated, energetic and positive

· Good problem-solving and numeracy skills

· Communication and ability to engage with people at all levels

· High standard on Microsoft packages, excel, outlook, word

· The ability to work to deadlines

· £30,000 salary. Working hours Monday – Friday 08:30 – 17:00
