Position Overview
As a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP), you will play a strategic and hands-on role in aligning HR strategies with business objectives for our retail operations across Europe. Acting as a trusted advisor, you will drive people initiatives, compliance, and workforce planning while fostering a culture of excellence. You will collaborate closely with retail leadership, store teams, and regional managers to ensure HR solutions meet the needs of a dynamic and fast-paced retail environment. Fluency in French and English is required to support our multilingual teams and operations effectively.
This position is an interim role (fixed term contract as replacement for maternity leave).
Key Responsibilities
Strategic HR Partnership:
- Partner with retail operations leadership to translate business objectives into actionable HR strategies and initiatives.
- Act as a coach and advisor to retail managers on employee relations, performance management, succession planning, and organizational change.
- Work with global and regional HR teams to implement consistent processes, policies, and best practices across stores and offices.
- Foster a positive and inclusive workplace environment by addressing employee relations matters proactively, providing guidance and mediating conflicts, and ensuring fair and consistent application of company policies to support employee well-being and engagement.
Talent Acquisition and Workforce Planning:
- Collaborate with the recruitment team to ensure effective hiring, onboarding, and retention strategies for store managers, sales associates, and office positions.
- Analyze workforce data to forecast staffing needs, identify skill gaps, and develop talent pipelines aligned with business growth.
Compliance and Governance:
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations across regions, including privacy, health and safety, and works council legislation.
- Oversee HR compliance matters, including employee relations, labor law updates, and audits, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Monitor and address compliance risks, provide training on regulatory matters, and ensure internal HR governance is upheld.
Compensation, Benefits, and Reporting:
- Support the development of competitive compensation frameworks, including benchmarking salaries and designing total rewards strategies.
- Oversee performance management and bonus payout processes, ensuring alignment with business objectives and budgetary controls.
- Provide data-driven insights through regular reporting on HR KPIs such as turnover, absenteeism, and productivity to inform strategic decisions.
Learning and Development:
- Partner with the Learning and Development team to assess training needs and deliver retail-specific programs that enhance skills and capabilities.
- Design and implement career development initiatives to support the growth of employees across all levels.
Operational Excellence:
- Ensure the smooth execution of HRIS systems, including payroll, headcount planning, and compliance tracking.
- Manage and develop HR dashboards and tools to enhance reporting accuracy and business understanding.
- Contribute to the optimization of HR processes, policies, and procedures to drive efficiency and compliance.
Cross-Border Collaboration:
- Build relationships with teams across different regions, including Benelux and global markets, to align HR practices and foster cultural integration.
- Serve as a liaison between store and corporate teams, ensuring alignment on shared goals and operational priorities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is an advantage.
- 5+ years of HR experience, ideally in an international retail environment.
- Fluency in French and English (written and verbal) is required; additional languages are an asset.
- Deep understanding of employment laws, compensation frameworks, and workforce dynamics in European markets.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels.
- Advanced proficiency in HRIS tools, Excel, and data analytics.
- Experience in compliance, governance, and works council management is highly desirable.
