The Program

WJS Canada provides community-based social services to families, persons with diverse abilities and youth to foster positive life changes, build skills and the confidence/resiliency to overcome life's challenges. In Your Role You Will

  • Post high volume of job requisitions and set up new employees in HRIS system.
  • Ensure accuracy of pre-boarding employees as supported by the field administration teams.
  • Act as a point of contact for the Njoyn Applicant Tracking System (ATS), providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Deliver recruitment support for management roles.
  • Support HR processes related to criminal record check, vulnerable persons search, and immigration support ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and audit requirements.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to implement HR programs that align with organizational goals and foster a positive work environment. This may include, but is not limited to, training support and performance management administration.
  • Maintain employee personnel files, both hard copies and electronic, as used within the HR Department.
  • Participate in various HR projects
  • Maintain high standards of customer service excellence in all interactions and deliverables.

The Position

The Human Resources Generalist will facilitate the coordination of job posting requisitions to support the programs' recruitment initiatives within WJS Canada. The role will play a key part in orchestrating the pre-boarding process for new hires, ensuring a seamless transition from field talent responsibilities to their first payroll cycle. This position requires the candidate to be able to be proactive, and efficient, with a detail-oriented approach, often with tight timelines required. It requires a commitment to delivering an exceptional pre-boarding experience and provide new team members with a point of contact for future orientation within the company. Effective communication and high-quality service delivery with an effort to optimize efficiencies is required. The role will collaborate closely with fellow members of the Human Resources (HR) team, along with front-line stakeholders, ensuring adherence to HR best practices throughout the pre-boarding process.

Some components of this role are highly transactional, supporting multiple HR functions. Ability to execute repetitive tasks in an efficient manner is highly preferable.

Schedule:
One (1) permanent full-time position with a weekly schedule of 40 hours:
  • Monday through Friday, 0830-1630

The position is currently scheduled to be based out of the Central Administration office in Maple Ridge, BC and is open for a hybrid/remote model which will be discussed during an interview.

As An Ideal Candidate You Possess

  • Currently pursuing a diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 2-5 years of comprehensive experience and understanding of human resources principles, practices, and procedures related to recruitment and onboarding.
  • Proven experience in onboarding in a similar HR role with a focus on front-line and operational support tasks.
  • Working knowledge of HR processes, policies, and employment laws.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage teams effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in a variety of systems such as applicant tracking (i.e. Njoyn), HR Information (i.e. Dayforce) and Microsoft Office 365 is highly desirable.
  • Detail-oriented and able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • A collaborative approach with a passion for motivating and inspiring a diverse team, along with a commitment to effective leadership.
