Hr Operations Specialist, Rté
RTÉ (Raidió Teilifís Éireann) is Ireland's national public-service media organisation. A leader in Irish media, RTÉ provides comprehensive, cost-effective, free-to-air multi-media services to the public in Ireland and interested audiences internationally.

Human Resources now have an open vacancy for a HR Operations Specialist within the HR Operations team at Administrative Grade 2 level.

The successful candidate will pro-actively help deliver and support the HR People Strategy for RTÉ.

We are looking for a leader who will demonstrate initiative, a can-do attitude together with strong decision-making ability. A key attribute for this role is the ability to work effectively as part of a team with demonstrable influencing skills.

The main responsibilities of the role include the following:
  • Key team player of all activities related to HR processes, including resource management, absence management, compensation and benefits, etc.
  • Ensure records are kept up to date on HR systems and validating the accuracy of data
  • Point of contact for line managers, HR colleagues and other central functions regarding HR Operations activities
  • Ensure responses given, actions taken, and documentation produced, comply with internal procedures and standards and external regulatory and legislative requirements
  • Recommend and implement improvements in workflow processes, procedures, use of equipment/systems and forms
  • Checking quality of output across key processes to include contracts, payroll notes, renumeration changes, system updates to ensure compliance and best practice
  • Subject matter expert for HR Operations Processes and trainer as required
  • Pro-actively provide strong levels of support to the team
  • Deputise for team lead and pro-actively provide strong levels of support to the team
The HR Operations Specialist will also be expected to keep up to date with all existing HR policies, procedures and employment legislation, and ensure that legislative and policy updates are incorporated into processes. Building strong relationships is a key element of this role to include relationships across the entire HR team, with line management and with other key customers and stakeholders.

In addition, the HR Operations Specialist will:
  • Highlight problem trends which may require corrective action and pro-actively provide suggested solutions
  • Suggest, implement and co-ordinate process improvements for specific major processes/initiatives
The successful applicant will also carry out project work, research and analysis across the full HR scope of activity.

Candidates should possess the following:
  • Previous HR Experience and knowledge of employment legislation
  • A strong working knowledge of HR systems, together with strong PC skills, including core Microsoft packages MS Excel and MS Word
  • A willingness to take end to end responsibility in the delivery of HR support to the business
  • Drive and ambition in identifying and implementing improvement initiatives in the creation of greater efficiencies and smarter ways of working
  • Ability to integrate well within teams and collaborate with individuals / groups at all levels in the organisation
  • Self-motivated, highly organised and flexible
  • Accuracy and attention to detail, together with the ability to prioritise demands and exercise judgement and discretion
  • Ability to work and lead in an environment of varying demands and tight deadlines, as well as the ability to assist team members to manage and organise workload
  • Excellent communication skills

The post will be a 2-year fixed term contract and the salary range for the position is €35,229 - €49,164 (Administrative Grade 2).
