An opportunity has presented itself for a HSE Advisor to join our team on a 6‑month casual contract, covering leave, based in Perth, Western Australia.

What You’ll Do

Working as part of a broader National HSE Business Partnering team, this role supports local operational and maintenance activities across the WA rail operations.

Reporting to the HSE Manager, you will:

• Coach and support operational supervisors and managers to improve HSE performance and embed strong safety leadership practices
• Actively support the implementation of HSE processes, programs and systems to manage operational hazards and risks
• Facilitate risk assessments and monitor the effectiveness of critical risk controls in partnership with site leadership
• Support agreed Pacific National HSE strategic initiatives focused on improving operational safety
• Participate in audits, inspections and compliance assurance activities
• Assist with incident investigations in line with the Pacific National investigation framework
• Deliver HSE training and toolbox sessions to support workforce capability and system implementation

What You’ll Bring

• Tertiary qualifications in Health & Safety, Occupational Risk, or a related discipline (or working towards) would be highly regarded.
• 1 year or more experience in an operational HSE Advisor or similar role
• Practical experience supporting leaders to manage safety risks in a high‑risk or operational environment
• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and coach frontline leaders
• Experience within rail, transport, logistics, mining or heavy industry will be highly regarded
• Availability to commence at short notice
