Agape has an open Human Flourishing Family Advocate position. The Human Flourishing Family Advocate advances the mission of Agape Child & Family Services by supporting individuals and families participating in the Human Flourishing Initiative in partnership with Restore Hope and community stakeholders across Memphis and Shelby County. This role helps connect individuals to resources, services, and supports that promote stability, resilience, and long-term well-being as part of Agape’s work to fight poverty so families can flourish.
Working within Agape’s Two-Generation (2Gen) whole-family approach and in partnership with Restore Hope, the Human Flourishing Family Advocate provides direct support to individuals and families by conducting assessments, coordinating services, and helping participants navigate complex systems. This role contributes to Agape’s journey toward becoming a hope-centered organization by applying the Science of Hope framework and Human Flourishing principles to help individuals identify goals, develop pathways towards those goals, and strengthen resilience.
The Family Advocate works collaboratively with the Human Flourishing Coordinator, community partners, and service providers to ensure participants receive coordinated, strengths-based support that promotes long-term stability and opportunity.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Engagement & Advocacy
- Develop trusting relationships with individuals and families participating in the Human Flourishing initiative.
- Conduct assessments with individuals to identify needs, strengths, and relevant resources.
- Advocate for individuals and families to ensure access to appropriate services and support systems.
- Support individuals in identifying goals and practical steps toward improved stability and well-being.
Service Coordination & Resource Connection
- Connect individuals and families to appropriate community resources, services, and treatment options.
- Coordinate services with partner organizations to ensure participants receive comprehensive support.
- Follow up with individuals and partner organizations to monitor progress and ensure needs are being met.
- Support individuals in navigating systems such as courts, social services, housing resources, and treatment providers when appropriate.
Case Management & Documentation
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client interactions and service coordination activities.
- Utilize designated case management systems to record client information, services provided, and progress toward goals.
- Ensure documentation meets program, grant, and reporting requirements.
- Provide regular updates to the Human Flourishing Coordinator regarding client progress and participation.
Community Collaboration
- Develop positive working relationships with community partners and service providers supporting the Human Flourishing Initiative.
- Participate in Human Flourishing meetings, trainings, and collaborative initiatives with Restore Hope and community partners.
- Promote collaboration across agencies and organizations working to support individuals and families.
Organizational Engagement & Professional Responsibilities
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and organizational learning opportunities.
- Maintain positive and productive relationships with colleagues, partners, and community stakeholders.
- Contribute to a workplace culture aligned with Agape’s mission, core values, the Science of Hope framework, and Human Flourishing principles
- Perform other duties within the general scope of this role as assigned by leadership.

- Minimum 5 years of experience working with vulnerable populations, community-based services, or justice or child welfare systems in Tennessee.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to work with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications, including Excel, Teams, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with case management systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, criminal justice, human services, or related field.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer.
- Walking, standing, and attending meetings at community partner locations.
- Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at a time.
