The Cork facility is one of several Snap-on global engineering sites and employs over 80 development professionals.

Job Description

We are seeking a proactive and adaptable HR Generalist to support the effective operation of the Cork engineering office. Working closely with the Senior Management Team, this role delivers day‑to‑day HR support, ensures compliance across all people processes, and contributes to a positive and engaging employee experience.

The ideal candidate will be organised, people‑focused, and confident working in a fast‑paced environment where professionalism and confidentiality are essential.

Educational & Experience Requirements

  • Degree‑level qualification or equivalent experience.
  • CIPD accreditation (or working towards).
  • 2–3 years’ experience in a similar HR generalist, coordinator, or HR advisory role.

  • Positive, solution‑focused attitude with strong problem‑solving skills.
  • Comfortable analysing HR data and generating meaningful insights.

Key Responsibilities

HR Operations & Administration:

  • Deliver core HR services and provide day‑to‑day support to employees and managers.
  • Maintain accurate, compliant, and confidential HR records and systems.
  • Prepare HR documentation including contracts, letters, and updates.
  • Maintain the site clock card system and support attendance tracking.
  • Liaise with the Payroll Dept. to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
  • Administer the Health Insurance Group Scheme.
  • Support GDPR compliance and promote strong data governance across HR processes.
  • Process invoices, resolve account queries, and support general office administration.

Recruitment & Onboarding:

  • Coordinate the full recruitment cycle, including job postings, interview scheduling, agency liaison, and candidate communication.
  • Deliver induction and onboarding sessions for new employees to ensure a smooth and positive start.
  • Support hiring managers in workforce planning and role scoping where required.

Employee Relations & Compliance:

  • Provide first‑line support to employees and managers on HR policies, procedures, and employment law matters.
  • Keep up to date with Irish employment legislation and ensure compliant HR practices.
  • Support employee relations activity, escalating complex cases as appropriate.
  • Ensure probation reviews are completed on time with appropriate follow‑up actions.
  • Maintain documentation and processes in line with legal and company requirements.

Performance, Learning & Development:

  • Coordinate the annual performance review cycle and support managers with timelines and documentation.
  • Track training needs identified during reviews and support ongoing development planning.
  • Maintain accurate training records and assist in coordinating internal or external training sessions.

Engagement, Culture & Wellbeing:

  • Facilitate Great Place to Work (GPTW) activities and contribute to engagement initiatives.
  • Support wellbeing programmes and initiatives that promote a healthy and positive workplace.
  • Contribute to DE&I activities, encouraging inclusive behaviours and practices.

Health, Safety & Site Support:

  • Collaborate with Health & Safety colleagues to support safe working practices across the site.
  • Attend meetings as required to support site operations and HR priorities.
  • Provide reception cover and manage incoming/outgoing mail when needed.
  • Oversee ordering of stationery and office supplies to support day‑to‑day site operations.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities to streamline HR processes and enhance employee experience.
  • Suggest improvements to HR systems, documentation, and workflows.
  • Participate in HR and site projects as required.

General:

  • Carry out additional duties as reasonably assigned by the manager.

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term
