Description:
What’s the focus of this position?
To support the Director for People & Culture and the Director of Employee Engagement in administering tasks and programs related to the development and execution of HR strategies in the following key areas: Talent and Performance Management, Culture and People Engagement, Employee Wellbeing and Learning & Development.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Talent & Performance Management
Champion the administration of position changes (Contract Variations and Loading changes) across all SPCE entities.
Assist in performance management processes, focusing on development and tracking of goals and metrics of different teams across all SPCE entities.
Liaise with HR Systems Administrator in setting up, tracking and reporting on progress of Performance goals and metrics in MyPeople.
2. Culture & People Engagement
Champion the organisation’s values, promoting a positive, inclusive, and supportive culture.
Organize, track and monitor staff surveys, including but not limited to Gallup Q12 Engagement Survey; Analyse engagement data (Q12) and work with managers to action feedback under the direction of the Director of Wellbeing and Engagement
Plan and coordinate programs that promote the SPCE value of “Build Community”.
3. Employee Wellbeing
Liaise, collaborate with P8 Employee Wellbeing Project Committee and with the various SPCE entities in gathering data, assisting the rollout of Wellbeing initiatives and implementing a calendar of holistic wellbeing initiatives (covering mental, physical, social, and financial wellness) that support the organisation’s wellbeing strategies and complies with legislative requirements.
Promote and coordinate Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs) and mental health awareness trainings and initiatives.
Work with Principals and ELTs in entities to ensure strategies to prevent Psychosocial hazards are in place. Including providing advice on incident management; Risk Assessments; Tracking incident management and reporting; Training and Development; and Employee Voice.
Conduct audits on wellbeing, safety, and engagement data to identify trends and develop best-practice models.
4. Learning & Development
Assist in identifying training needs, developing training materials (e-learning, workshops), scheduling sessions, and maintaining training records in MyPeople
Identify, coordinate with external trainers, vendors, and consultants for specialized training delivery.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training initiatives through surveys and feedback to improve future programs.
5. Support the wider HR team to deliver on strategic and operational goals.
Manage files and personnel documents, including digital files.
Primary contact for the HR team.
Assist in the development and maintenance of Policy and Process documents; including templates, Scripts, Guidelines, checklists, forms and handbooks.
Assist with recruitment at the entity level as required, including participating on panels and providing best practice advice.
Any other reasonable direction that is within the limits of your skills, competence, training and/or experience as given by your supervisor.
Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Committed Christian who is actively involved in their local evangelical Christian church.
A bachelor's degree HR Management, Business Administration, Psychology or similar.
A minimum of 3 years HR experience with proven track record in a generalist HR role, with specific experience in administering and implementing processes in the focus areas of the role.
Exceptional ability to collaborate and drive synergies among different groups, with conflicting priorities and practices.
Experience in developing and implementing HR initiatives, HR policy and procedures.
Strong organisational skills to manage multiple projects and events simultaneously.
Ability to work independently and provide an objective oversight of HR matters across the organisation and contribute to a high performing executive teams.
Engaging and flexible communication skills with demonstrated ability to build relationships both organisational-wide and with external stakeholders.
Alignment with SPCE’s values and passion for its vision.
Demonstrated advanced Microsoft Office skills.
Demonstrated high-level administration and organisational skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
High level of confidentiality.
Ability to keep up with innovation and trends in HR industry.

Current Working with Children Check.
Other valuable skills and experience you may have:
Experience working within the education sector would be highly regarded.
Experience working in a unionised environment.
