How will you contribute?
The Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST.lu) is looking for a highly motivated and talented Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team and contribute to two exciting EU-funded projects: CitCom.ai and MOBIEDIC. The selected candidate will work closely with our expert teams to perform cutting-edge research and development activities in the fields of Local Digital Twins, Data Spaces Technologies, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and High-Performance Computing (HPC).
CitCom.ai (www.citcom.ai) project focuses on creating a Testing and Experimentation Facility (TEF) for Smart Cities and Communities, including common infrastructure for enabling experiments with AI Innovators and cities, giving special emphasis on Local Digital Twins, AI, and HPC.
MOBIEDIC aims to enhance the EU mobility and transport’s sector efficiency, sustainability and innovation readiness through improved data structures and services, aligning with the broader EU Data Strategy. LIST contributions focuses on actions to establish a sustainable collaboration structure for the future European Digital Innovation Centers (EDIC) in the areas of mobility and logistics data.
Main Responsibilities
Contribute to CitCom.ai Work Package 3 (WP3) on Common Infrastructure for Testing and Experimentation Facilities, by providing technical guidelines on Local Digital Twins, AI, and HPC.
Collaborate with technical experts to design, develop, and implement infrastructure for Testing and Experimentation Facilities.
Support Work Package 4 (WP4) on Project Operations, by contributing to the design and execution of Data, AI and Digital Twin experiments with Smart-city-related AI innovators
Assist in the project’s operational management, ensuring the smooth running of experiments and contributing to the evaluation of results.
Contribute to MOBIEDIC’s Work Package 2 (WP2), focusing on establishing a sustainable collaboration structure and providing operational support for the future EDIC in Mobility and Logistics Data, including the implementation of an Information Exchange Platform for the project.
Assist in the coordination of stakeholders and in the creation of strategies to ensure efficient data management and sharing through Data Spaces Technologies.
Participate in the development of collaboration frameworks that promote the sustainability of EDIC mobility data operations.

Education
A PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
Strong expertise in Digital Twins, Artificial Intelligence (AI). High-Performance Computing (HPC) expertise is desired.
Experience in project management and the ability to work on collaborative research projects.
Solid understanding of testing and experimentation infrastructures for AI systems.
Familiarity with mobility and logistics data frameworks and data spaces technologies is highly desirable.
Preferred Skills
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or Java.
Experience with deploying software in on-premises and cloud platforms,
Basic knowledge on HPC environments.
Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
Excellent communication skills in English; knowledge of French or German is a plus.
Previous experience with European project collaboration is a strong advantage.
