About us

Woodward Foods Australia is an established Australian meat processor, wholesaler and exporter, supplying quality beef and lamb to domestic and international markets. Our operations include a processing facility in Swan Hill, Victoria, and distribution depots in Queensland, New South Wales and South Australia.

We are seeking an ICT Customer Support Officer to support the technology used by our Queensland depot. This is a practical role helping staff resolve technical problems and keeping computers, applications and connected equipment operating reliably.

About the role

Based at our Morningside depot, you will provide technical assistance to staff who rely on computer systems for communication, administration, order processing and distribution activities. You will install and configure equipment, investigate faults and guide users in the effective use of their technology.

Your responsibilities

  • Respond to staff enquiries about computer hardware, software, email, printers and connectivity problems.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical faults, escalating issues to external providers when necessary and following them through to resolution.
  • Install, configure and test desktop computers, laptops, operating systems and approved business applications.
  • Discuss users’ technical requirements and recommend suitable equipment, software or configuration changes.
  • Configure application settings to meet approved user requirements and help staff use applications efficiently.
  • Install, maintain and troubleshoot printers, scanners and other computer peripherals, arranging repairs or replacements where required.
  • Assist with installing and configuring network equipment and resolving local network and internet connectivity issues.
  • Prepare equipment and user access for new staff and update or remove access when authorised.
  • Provide clear instructions and practical guidance to staff on using equipment and resolving common technical problems.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment, support requests, faults, configuration changes and solutions.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external suppliers to minimise disruption to depot operations.

Qualifications and experience

  • An Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma, Diploma or higher qualification in information technology or a related field. At least three years of directly relevant experience may be considered in place of a formal qualification.
  • Practical experience supporting computer hardware, operating systems, business applications and peripherals.
  • An understanding of computer networking, internet connectivity and technical troubleshooting.
  • Experience installing and configuring equipment and assisting users with different levels of technical knowledge.

Skills and attributes

  • A methodical approach to investigating and resolving problems.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to explain technical matters in everyday language.
  • Good organisation and the ability to prioritise requests according to operational needs.
  • A helpful, reliable approach and respect for confidential business information.

Pay: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
