Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and creative Illustrator to bring children’s stories to life through engaging and vibrant artwork. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in digital design, graphic arts, and visual storytelling, with experience in creating illustrations that appeal to young audiences. This role involves collaborating with authors and publishers to develop captivating visuals that enhance the narrative and inspire young readers.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed illustrations for children’s books using digital design tools and techniques.
• Develop character designs, backgrounds, and scene compositions that align with the story’s tone and style.
• Utilize software such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, and Adobe Creative Suite to produce high-quality artwork.
• Incorporate motion graphics or 2D/3D animation elements when applicable to enhance visual storytelling.
• Collaborate closely with authors, editors, and publishers to ensure the artwork meets project specifications and deadlines.
• Prepare final artwork files suitable for printing or digital publication formats.
• Experiment with typography, visual arts painting, sketching, and construction painting to create unique artistic elements.

Requirements

• Proven experience in graphic design, digital illustration, or visual arts painting.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, and Maya for 3D animation or motion graphics.
• Strong skills in sketching, typography, and visual storytelling tailored for children’s books.
• Knowledge of SketchUp, CAD, HTML/CSS (for interactive or digital projects), and other relevant design tools is a plus.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
• Excellent attention to detail and creative problem-solving skills.
• Portfolio demonstrating previous work in children’s book illustration or related fields is required.
