As a tutor and mentor with Scholars Education Centre Burlington South, you will be responsible to provide superior individualized academic support to students. You are joining a dynamic team who want you to make a difference for each student who you have the opportunity of working with!

Must be available to work a minimum of two days: Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and/or Saturdays.

We are urgently seeking a Teacher or Tutor who is qualified and competent in Math and Science at the High School level in the following subject areas: Mathematics, Functions, Advanced Functions, Calculus and Vectors, Data Management, Biology, Chemistry, and/or Physics.

Essential Job Functions

• Instruct students on an as-needed basis
• Accurately provide reporting regarding student progress as required
• Prepare teaching materials when applicable
• Attend training workshops as needed
• Complete administrative tasks when required
• Achieve Real Life Results for each student! Follow, adapt, and provide feedback regarding each student’s individual Goal Sheet – our guideline and benchmark to providing individual success for each student we work with!

Requirements

Must be available to work: Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays (after 3pm) and Saturdays after (9-1pm)

• Ontario certified teacher (Preferred)
• Experienced and educated in the background of tutoring/mentoring to be provided
• Excellent communication skills
• Able to work both as a part of a team and independently
• Strong communication and multitasking abilities
• Experience with students in a teaching or tutoring environment
• Excellent organizational skills

Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour

Schedule:

• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
• Night shift
• Weekends as needed

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree (required)

Experience:

• teaching: 1 year (required)
• tutoring: 1 year (required)

Licence/Certification:

• Ontario Certification of Teachers (OCT) (preferred)
• Current McMaster Students (preferred)

Work Location: In person
