Long Sheet Metal Insulation Services Limited is currently recruiting experienced Industrial Insulators / Sheet Metal Workers to join our team at Ballyvolane Business Park, Cork.

Applicants should have previous experience in industrial insulation and the fabrication and installation of protective sheet metal cladding.

The role involves measuring, cutting and fitting insulation materials to pipes, valves, pressure vessels, tanks, ducting, flues and other hot or cold surfaces for thermal insulation, fire protection and soundproofing purposes.

Duties include:

• Measuring, cutting, shaping and fitting industrial insulation materials.
• Installing insulation on pipework, valves, vessels, tanks, ducting, flues and associated industrial equipment.
• Fabricating and installing protective metal cladding and jacketing over insulated surfaces.
• Carrying out pattern development and layout of sheet metal for pipework, vessels, domed ends, valve and angle boxes, tee pieces, reducers, transformers and other fittings.
• Cutting, shaping and fabricating mild steel, galvanised mild steel, stainless steel, aluminium and other alloys up to 1.2mm.
• Using sheet metal fabrication machinery and hand tools to manufacture cladding components.
• Fitting aluminium, zinc, stainless steel and other specified protective coverings and finishes.
• Reading drawings, measurements and specifications to determine fabrication and installation requirements.
• Selecting appropriate insulation and cladding materials for each application.
• Repairing and replacing insulation and protective cladding where required.
• Ensuring all work is completed accurately and to the required quality and safety standards.
• Maintaining good housekeeping and safe working practices.

Candidate Requirements

Applicants should:

• Have previous experience in industrial insulation and/or sheet metal fabrication and cladding.
• Have practical experience measuring, developing, cutting and fabricating sheet metal patterns.
• Be competent using relevant hand tools and sheet metal machinery.
• Be able to read and work from drawings and specifications.
• Be able to plan and organise their work effectively.
• Have good problem-solving skills.
• Be able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Demonstrate good timekeeping, quality awareness and safety awareness.
• Communicate effectively and maintain good working relationships with colleagues and customers.

Minimum Experience Required: 3 years
