Job Description:

The Industrial Janitorial Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily cleaning and maintenance operations performed by the Industrial Janitorial team. This individual ensures that all janitorial activities meet company standards for cleanliness, safety, and efficiency within an industrial facility. The Lead plays a key leadership role in training staff, maintaining compliance with safety and environmental regulations, assisting with managing supplies and equipment, and ensuring work is completed in accordance with client and company expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Supervision

 Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the site Industrial Janitors.

 Provide training, guidance, and performance feedback to ensure safe, high-quality work.

 Conduct regular inspections of work areas to verify that cleaning standards are met, and

corrective actions are taken as needed.

 Support staff development by coaching employees in safe work practices and equipment

operation.

 Scheduling and deployment of employees for their shifts and finding coverage as needed.

Operations & Quality Control

 Ensure all janitorial work is performed according to company protocols, safety regulations, and client expectations.

 Oversee the proper use, care, and maintenance of cleaning equipment such as scrubbers,

sweepers, and pressure washers.

 Monitor and verify completion of work orders and special cleaning projects, including

shutdowns or deep clean requests.

Safety & Compliance

 Enforce company safety policies and ensure staff always use appropriate PPE.

 Ensure compliance with environmental and waste disposal regulations, particularly regarding hazardous materials.

Inventory & Administration

 Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment; communicate with site contact

regarding ordering supplies.

 Regularly report to the Senior Director of Industrial Services summarizing cleaning performance, issues, and improvement plans.

Client & Team Relations

 Serve as the on-site point of contact for the Senior Director of Industrial Services.

 Address client requests, complaints, or concerns promptly and professionally.

 Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and respect among janitorial staff.

Qualifications:

 Strong knowledge of industrial cleaning methods, equipment, and chemical handling.

 Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team effectively.

 Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

 Ability to perform physical tasks as needed (lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for extended periods).

 Familiarity with safety standards (WHMIS, PPE requirements, and industrial hygiene practices).

 Valid Class 5 driver’s license.

 Ability to pass a drug and alcohol test.

 Knowledge of floor buffing and waxing is an asset.

Work Schedule:

Monday – Friday, 4:00 PM to 12:30 AM

(Additional hours may be required during shutdowns, special projects, or emergencies.)

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $25.00-$27.00 per hour
