Full‑time Overtime Available Fast‑Paced Industrial Environment

We are hiring a reliable, safety‑focused Industrial Machine Operator to run one primary piece of production equipment in our concrete roof tile manufacturing plant. Depending on assignment, you may operate the tile packaging machine, the racker system, or the tile machine. You will be responsible for safely operating your assigned machine, monitoring quality, and keeping production running smoothly.

This is a hands‑on industrial role in a loud, dusty, fast‑moving environment. If you take pride in quality work, safety, and teamwork, we would like to meet you.

What You will Do

Operate One Assigned Machine

You will be assigned to operate one of the following machines per shift:

Tile Packaging Machine Operator

  • Operate and monitor the tile stacker, strapper, and stretch‑wrapping systems.
  • Inspect tiles for quality and replace defective tiles before strapping.
  • Ensure pallets, cardboard, and wrapping materials are stocked.
  • Label pallets and support forklift operators.

Racker Operator

  • Operate the racker machine and related systems (grouper, ladders, limit switches, infeed chains, rackveyor, exit belt, guards).
  • Keep accurate tile counts by color and profile.
  • Bring materials to the hopper and monitor alarms.
  • Keep the racker area clean and running properly.

Tile Machine Operator

  • Monitor tile exiting the tile machine to ensure proper quality.
  • Ensure molds are clean, undamaged, and properly oiled.
  • Monitor and adjust liquid gauges.
  • Keep the tile machine area clean and operating safely.

General Responsibilities

  • Review production schedules and downtime reports at the start of each shift.
  • Monitor control panels and report or troubleshoot issues.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Follow lockout/tagout procedures before cleaning or maintenance.
  • Assist with color changes and track pallets of new color.
  • Support downtime procedures (resetting equipment, cleaning sensors, removing broken tiles).

Safety Requirements

  • Follow all lockout/tagout procedures — mandatory.
  • Wear required PPE: helmet, safety glasses, steel‑toed shoes, ear protection, gloves, back brace as needed.
  • Report safety concerns immediately.
  • Attend all safety training and monthly meetings.

Physical Requirements

  • Lift 12 lbs repeatedly; occasionally lift up to 100 lbs.
  • Stand and walk for 10+ hours per shift.
  • Climb stairs to access production areas.
  • Work in a loud, dusty, non‑climate‑controlled environment.
  • Detect alarms, forklift horns, and other safety signals.

Skills & Abilities

  • Read and understand safety instructions, production schedules, and downtime reports.
  • Write pallet numbers and basic labels.
  • Count tiles accurately; add, subtract, multiply, and divide two‑digit numbers.
  • Identify defective tiles.
  • Collaborate cooperatively with all team members.

Requirements

  • Must be punctual and reliable every scheduled day.
  • Must be willing to work overtime and up to six days per week.
  • Must be able to work the day or night shift.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour
