About the Role

Based at our Seven Hills facility, this role primarily involves sewing and assembling upholstery covers for commercial office seating.

You'll be working with a range of fabrics and materials to produce high-quality products that meet Advanta's quality standards and customer expectations.

This is a full-time position working 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday, offering stability, consistent hours, and the opportunity to become part of a collaborative manufacturing team.

What You'll Be Doing

Sewing & Upholstery Production

  • Sew upholstery covers using commercial sewing equipment.
  • Work from patterns and production specifications.
  • Operate industrial sewing machinery including:
  • Single needle machines
  • Overlock machines
  • Blind hem machines
  • Maintain high workmanship and quality standards.
Production Planning

  • Follow production schedules and priorities.
  • Ensure work is completed accurately and on time.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet daily production targets.
Stock & Materials

  • Assist with fabric stock control and inventory management.
  • Ensure efficient use of materials and minimise waste.
Team Support

  • Assist with other production-related tasks as required.
  • Contribute positively to a safe, productive, and supportive team environment.
Skills and Experiences:
What We're Looking For

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 2 years' experience operating industrial sewing machines.
  • Experience sewing fabrics in a commercial manufacturing environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good verbal and written English communication skills.
  • High level of organisation and time management.
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach.
Highly Regarded

  • Upholstery sewing experience.
  • Experience within furniture manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of health and safety practices within manufacturing environments.
