About the Role
Based at our Seven Hills facility, this role primarily involves sewing and assembling upholstery covers for commercial office seating.
You'll be working with a range of fabrics and materials to produce high-quality products that meet Advanta's quality standards and customer expectations.
This is a full-time position working 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday, offering stability, consistent hours, and the opportunity to become part of a collaborative manufacturing team.
What You'll Be Doing
Sewing & Upholstery Production
- Sew upholstery covers using commercial sewing equipment.
- Work from patterns and production specifications.
- Operate industrial sewing machinery including:
- Single needle machines
- Overlock machines
- Blind hem machines
- Maintain high workmanship and quality standards.
- Follow production schedules and priorities.
- Ensure work is completed accurately and on time.
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily production targets.
- Assist with fabric stock control and inventory management.
- Ensure efficient use of materials and minimise waste.
- Assist with other production-related tasks as required.
- Contribute positively to a safe, productive, and supportive team environment.
What We're Looking For
Essential Skills & Experience
- Minimum 2 years' experience operating industrial sewing machines.
- Experience sewing fabrics in a commercial manufacturing environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good verbal and written English communication skills.
- High level of organisation and time management.
- Basic Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel).
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach.
- Upholstery sewing experience.
- Experience within furniture manufacturing.
- Knowledge of health and safety practices within manufacturing environments.
