The Sony Europe Development Centre (EUDC) in Oslo strive to maintain a global lead in imaging and become the worldwide leader in the field of sensing applications through integrated development, design and production of CMOS image sensors for Automotive products and industry.
We look forward to enriching our Research team with a PhD Student partnering with the University of Oslo to develop analogue CMOS image sensor technologies for low-power AI applications.
The candidate will be formally admitted as a PhD student to the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at the University of Oslo (UiO). As part of the academic training, the selected student will take courses totalling 30 credits, of which a minimum of 5 must consist of a course in research ethics, academic theories, and methods, the others will be chosen in conjunction with the candidate and supervisors.
You will spend your time working both in our office and at the University.
Duration: 3 years employment contract.

Our modern furnished Lysaker office is based in the business district close to a large park and the sea, so you can enjoy a walk or a bike ride on your break, with some cafés and shops nearby too. The office is located just outside Oslo, with Gardermoen International Airport a short distance away. The office is a very short walk from Lysaker Train Station.
About You:

You have an M.Sc. Degree in Low-Power Micro-Electronics Design

You got a minimum of a B average for courses at the Master’ level, as well as the Master’s Thesis;

You have Analog ASIC/VLSI design knowledge;

You have preferably some experience with AI and Machine Learning programming.
