The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity is available for an Information Management Advisor to join our Information and Records Management team. In this role, you will support the development and implementation of the Diocese's Information and Records Management Strategy while delivering practical, compliant and customer-focused information and records management solutions.
You will contribute to complex information search, discovery and access activities, including locating, collating and preparing information from multiple sources to support information access requests, legal matters, investigations and other organisational requirements.
Working across records management, information governance, compliance and digital information systems, you will play a key role in strengthening information and records management practices, supporting regulatory compliance, and enabling the effective management, protection and use of information across the Diocese.

POSITION DESCRIPTION
The primary purpose of this position is to support the development and implementation of the Diocesan Information Management strategy.
Reporting to the Information Manager, this position will support the strategic and operational management of the Diocese in the development, implementation, and maintenance of information (regardless of format) and information management systems which are appropriate for the differing legislative requirements (civil and canonical), and operational requirements of various Diocesan services, partners and programmes.
This position plays an important role in providing appropriate information and records management advice to stakeholders and partners to ensure that appropriate, effective and efficient information management practices are adhered-to, in alignment with Diocesan values and mission, whilst ensuring industry best practices and requirements are met.
This role ensures a solution based, customer centric approach to information management – incorporating records management, information management, archiving, electronic discovery, physical discovery, knowledge management, information security and compliance.
Skills and Experiences:
EXPERIENCE/CRITERIA
- Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to engage, manage, negotiate, influence and establish effective relationships with a wide range of people.
- Self-motivated and able to work effectively with minimal supervision, within broad guidelines.
- Demonstrated knowledge and relevant experience in maintaining an enterprise Service Desk function to manage work and accountabilties within cross-disciplinary teams and environments.
- A proven track record of delivering Information Management services and solutions.
- Understanding of relevant best-practice frameworks, including Information Management (ISO and Australian Standards), IT service management (ITIL), project management, financial management, privacy and data security.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and multitasking skills.
- The ability to perform hands-on and remote troubleshooting and provide clear instructions to customers and other stakeholders.
- Experience working in religious, not-for-profit, social services, child care, and/or education settings would be highly valued, but not essential.
- Experience with some or all of the following:
- Enterprise Information Management systems such as Micro Focus Content Manager;
- Enterprise Microsoft systems such as Office/Microsoft 365, including Information Management tools, eg eDiscovery, Audit Logging and Purview;
- ITSM platforms such as ServiceNow
- TechnologyOne (ERP), Elmo (HR), Compass (SIS), MS Dynamics 365 or other enterprise systems.
- TAFE qualifications in Information/Records Management or subsequent relevant work experience; or an equivalent combination of knowledge gained through education, training and /or experience.
- Current Class C Driver’s Licence.
- Current Working with Children Check (WWCC).
- National Criminal History Check.
- Possession of Information Management industry or vendor certifications (Desirable).
- Possession of an IT Service Management certification such as ITIL (Desirable).
- Possession of a Project Management certification such as PMBOK, PRINCE 2 or Agile (Desirable).
