About the role
As an Infrastructure and Cloud Lead, the role is responsible for ensuring these environments are stable, secure, well-documented and continuously improved
Accountability of Deliverables
Lead assigned infrastructure, cloud, network and security-related activities in line with agreed priorities.
Ensure work is delivered in a structured, documented and supportable way.
Coordinate internal teams, vendors and managed service providers to achieve agreed outcomes.
Culture, People and Performance Management
Contribute to a collaborative, accountable and service-focused technology team.
Provide technical guidance to team members, project resources and vendors where required.
Support a culture of standardisation, documentation and continuous improvement.
Vision and Strategy
Support the delivery of HCA’s technology strategy by improving infrastructure, cloud and platform maturity.
Contribute to roadmaps and improvement plans across infrastructure, cloud, identity, security and network services.
Identify opportunities to simplify, modernise and improve the environment.
Governance, Risk and Compliance
Support governance, risk and compliance requirements relevant to infrastructure, cloud, identity and security controls.
Contribute to the uplift and ongoing maturity of the ASD Essential Eight framework.
Ensure infrastructure and cloud changes are assessed for risk, impact and operational readiness.
System Ownership
Maintain ownership of assigned infrastructure, cloud, identity, server and platform services.
Ensure systems are documented, monitored, supportable and aligned to agreed standards.
Maintain visibility of key risks, issues, dependencies and improvement opportunities.
Stakeholder Collaboration
Work closely with internal teams, business stakeholders, vendors and managed service providers.
Ensure clear communication and coordination across infrastructure, cloud, network and security activities.
Build effective working relationships that support stable and reliable technology services.
Role Specific Accountabilities
Infrastructure and Cloud Operations
Lead the operation, maintenance and improvement of HCA’s infrastructure and cloud environments.
Support Azure, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Active Directory, Windows Server, Linux, virtualisation and related platform services.
Maintain platform availability, performance, monitoring, backup, patching and resilience.
Ensure infrastructure and cloud services are documented, standardised and supportable.
Network, Operations and Security Support
Provide technical oversight for infrastructure, cloud, network and security-related issues.
Work with internal teams, vendors or managed service providers to support monitoring, incident response and service improvement.
Essential Eight and Security Uplift
Support HCA’s security uplift, with a focus on the ASD Essential Eight framework.
Act as a key IT Operations contact for controls relating to infrastructure, cloud, identity, patching, backups and privileged access.
Change, Delivery and Governance
Plan and coordinate infrastructure, cloud, network and security-related changes.
Prepare implementation plans, risk assessments, rollback plans and handover documentation where required.
Ensure changes follow HCA’s change management process.

Skills and Experiences:
About you
You will have:
Knowledge and Qualifications
Relevant IT qualifications and/or significant practical experience.
ITIL certification preferred.
Strong working knowledge of:
Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365
Entra ID and Active Directory
Windows Server and Linux systems
Virtualisation platforms
Infrastructure monitoring, patching, backup and recovery
Network fundamentals
ASD Essential Eight framework
Security monitoring and incident response concepts
You must agree to undergo any required employment screening, including but not limited to a National Criminal History or Police Check, Working with Children or Vulnerable Persons Check, and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
