I-XL Building Products is seeking an experienced Inside Sales / Yard Associate to join our growing Winnipeg team.

Position Overview

Reporting to the Branch Operations Manager, this role is a key part of our branch team, supporting both front-end customer service and back-end operational functions. The Inside Sales / CSR will deliver exceptional customer service, provide product knowledge, and build strong customer relationships both over the phone and in person. This role is also involved in inventory coordination and sales order processing, with support in the yard/warehouse.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Wage: $20.00 – $24.00 per hour (based on experience)

Key Responsibilities

  • Answer incoming calls and greet customers in the showroom
  • Assist customers in selecting appropriate products and provide pricing estimates
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with designers, home builders, and contractors
  • Process and maintain sales orders, invoicing, and returns in accordance with company policy
  • File and maintain all related paperwork on a daily basis
  • Monitor sales orders to ensure on-time fulfillment
  • Receive incoming inventory, verify accuracy, and process documentation
  • Process credit card transactions, account payments, and deposits
  • Ensure timely follow-up on all customer inquiries and needs
  • Maintain housekeeping and organization within assigned areas
  • Provide backup support in the yard/warehouse as required (outdoors)
  • Perform other branch-related duties as needed

Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of sales and/or customer service experience, preferably in construction or a related environment
  • Experience working in retail or customer-facing roles
  • Knowledge of the building products industry is an asset
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 100 lbs
  • Comfortable working outdoors and in extreme weather conditions at times
  • Forklift Operator license with at least 2 years’ experience is an asset (training available)
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize
  • Self-motivated, energetic, and customer-focused
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
  • Proficient in MS Office and comfortable learning new systems
  • Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
  • Professional, positive attitude with a proactive, results-oriented approach
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Ability to work effectively in a small, collaborative team environment

Pay: $20.00-$24.00 per hour
