Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Insurance Follow-Up Specialist who is fluent in English to join our healthcare administrative follow-up team. This role is crucial in ensuring timely and accurate reimbursement by following up on outstanding insurance claims, resolving billing issues, and maintaining clear communication with international insurance providers, including TRICARE, Aetna, Cigna, and Blue Cross Blue Shield.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contact insurance companies (primarily U.S.-based) to follow up on submitted claims.
- Track the status of claims and identify any rejections, denials, or delays in payment.
- Prepare and send required documentation (medical records, invoices, authorizations) to support claim processing and the Claim Department.
- Communicate with patients (if needed) to ask for assistance in matters affecting their claims.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all insurance-related correspondence.
- Collaborate with the Front Desk and Claim Departments to ensure consistent and accurate patient data.
- Report unresolved issues or patterns of denial to the insurance coordinator or clinic management.
- Understand and apply basic medical and insurance terminology relevant to claim processing.
Qualifications:
- Fluency in English (spoken and written) - C1-C2 level required.
- Previous experience in medical billing or insurance follow-ups preferred but not necessary.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Familiarity with U.S. health insurance systems is a strong advantage.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and healthcare-related software systems.
