This position is commission based, offering significant earning potential for motivated candidates. For applicants with relevant experience, industry knowledge, and a proven track record, the company is open to discussing a compensation structure that includes a base salary in addition to commission.

Responsible for prospecting, soliciting, quoting, and procuring new business on personal lines accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prospect, solicit and place coverage for clients new to McFarlan Rowlands in order to meet New Business goals established on an annual basis.
  • Evaluate client needs and provide risk management and insurance advice in the interests of the client.
  • Begin building a lasting relationship between clients and McFarlan Rowlands by providing timely, friendly and knowledgeable service.
  • Responsible for placing coverage with the appropriate market, completion of the documentation required, and arranging payment in alignment with corporate policy. All new business to be reviewed and approved by underwriting team before submission to insurer.
  • Gather and document relevant information to ensure client receives the appropriate coverage and service.
  • Keep abreast of markets, new products, pricing, and opportunities.
  • Maintain detailed records of all sales communications, contacts, and client activities within the broker management system.
  • Adhere to all system procedures and insurance company regulations.
  • Assist with special projects, as required.

Qualifications:

  • RIBO Licensed
  • 3 - 5 years of Personal Lines Insurance industry experience
  • Excellent sales, selling new business, and customer service skills
  • Good written and oral communication skills; organized; attention to detail; ability to prioritize; team player; accuracy in recording details
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced environment
  • CAIB, CIP or working towards an industry designation
  • Working knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $60,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
