How will you contribute?

This internship provides an opportunity to get experienced in recombinant protein production in a bacterial host and enzymatic assays related to lignocellulose deconstruction. The trainee will focus on cloning, protein expression, protein purification and activity testing of carbohydrate-active enzymes, contributing to the team’s work on characterizing enzymes that act on polysaccharides

You will be mainly in charge of:

• Cloning carbohydrate active enzyme coding genes in bacterial host
• Managing the production of the recombinant proteins
• Purification of the recombinant proteins
• Carry out enzymatic tests to characterize the activity of recombinant proteins

Education

• Master’s student with a background in molecular biology or biochemistry for a 6-month internship.

Experience and skills

• Understanding of molecular biology tools and approaches
• Knowledge of laboratory good practices

Language skills

• Good level both written and spoken English and French
