Position Summary
Fresh Start Recovery Centre is seeking a qualified, experienced Intake Supervisor to oversee intake operations and provide leadership across our addiction treatment services. This role is responsible for supervising and supporting a team of nine (9+) support workers, ensuring high-quality intake services, and assessing client eligibility for treatment.
The Intake Supervisor provides clinical and operational support, including crisis and suicide intervention in collaboration with trained staff, and is available for after-hours on-call support as required. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this role plays a key part in ensuring client safety, program integrity, and continuity of care during and outside regular business hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, train, and support a team of intake and client support staff.
- Assess client eligibility and coordinate admissions and discharges.
- Provide crisis intervention and suicide prevention support in collaboration with trained staff.
- Deliver supportive general care services within a recovery-focused environment.
- Monitor and observe clients, identifying changes in behaviour or health status.
- Role model healthy lifestyle choices and maintain clear, professional boundaries.
- Ensure the safety, security, and well-being of all program participants during all business hours.
- Complete accurate and timely documentation, including incident reports, client files, and general logs.
- Collaborate with community partners and advocate for clients requiring external supports.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary certification in Addiction Counselling or a minimum of two (2) years of recent, related experience.
- Strong working knowledge of addiction recovery, the disease model, and 12-Step programming.
- Peer Support Certification and/or Recovery Coach certification is considered an asset.

- Supervisory and Leadership skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to observe and respond to behavioural or health-related changes in clients.
- Effective conflict resolution and crisis intervention skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload effectively.
- Proficiency in Office 365, SharePoint, and FYIdb.
Mandatory Requirements
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
- 3 Year clean driver's abstract
- Ability to work collaboratively with community partners.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $50,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
