Johnstown Estate is seeking an experienced Interim Night Manager to support our award-winning 4-star property during a period of transition. This role ensures the smooth running of all night operations, exceptional guest service, and accurate completion of nightly financial procedures.


About the Role

The Interim Night Manager will lead the night team, oversee guest services, manage night audits, and act as the senior decision-maker on duty. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled hospitality professional who thrives in a luxury environment and values high operational standards.


Key Responsibilities


Night Operations

  • Manage the hotel overnight, ensuring all departments function smoothly and safely.
  • Serve as the senior manager on duty, addressing guest needs, incidents, and emergencies.
  • Support late arrivals, early departures, and VIP guest requirements.
  • Ensure the property is prepared and well-presented for the next day's operations.


Night Audit & Financial Controls

  • Complete nightly revenue audits and reconcile transactions across all hotel outlets.
  • Prepare accurate night audit reports and ensure end-of-day procedures are completed.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in line with hotel financial policies.


Team Leadership

  • Supervise, guide, and support the night team to deliver consistent, high-quality service.
  • Conduct thorough shift handovers and communicate effectively with day management.
  • Maintain a positive working environment built on teamwork and accountability.


Safety & Security

  • Monitor and enforce hotel security procedures throughout the night.
  • Record and manage incidents professionally and in accordance with hotel protocols.
  • Coordinate with emergency services when required.


Requirements

  • Minimum 2+ years' experience in a supervisory or management role within a 4- or 5-star hotel.
  • Strong working knowledge of front office operations, PMS usage, and night audit processes.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently and remain calm under pressure.
  • A commitment to delivering outstanding guest service.
