THE ROLE AND YOUR IMPACT AT DOTT
Interim Project Manager, Operations Team
Duration: 6-month fixed-term contract
Location: Stuttgart Region (on-site presence required)
Language: Fluency in English and German is required
This is a 6-month interim role focused on a specific project: lead an end-to-end operational efficiency initiative across a defined cluster of cities. The project scope includes a thorough review and restructuring of our operational footprint — warehouses, logistics flows, cost structures, and third-party partnerships — to drive sustainable efficiencies while maintaining service quality for our riders.
This is not a standard operational management role. You will be expected to diagnose, plan, execute, and hand over — driving real structural change within a fixed timeline. You will work closely with local operations teams, regional leadership, and cross-functional stakeholders across Finance, People, and Commercial.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Project Leadership & Delivery
Own the end-to-end delivery of the cluster efficiency project, from diagnostic through to execution and transition handover.
Define a clear project roadmap with milestones, workstreams, risks, and decision points, and report progress to regional and senior leadership.
Lead footprint optimization efforts — including consolidation of warehouse and operational sites — ensuring transitions are executed with minimal disruption to daily operations.
Identify and quantify efficiency levers across logistics, workforce deployment, and vendor contracts; build the business case and drive decisions to closure.
Operational Excellence
Monitor and analyze cluster-level KPIs
Optimize vehicle deployment and logistics flows to ensure the fleet is in the right locations at the right times.
Ensure warehouse and field operations run safely and compliantly
Stakeholder & Partner Management
Build and maintain effective working relationships with third-party logistics providers, local vendors, and subcontractors throughout the project lifecycle.
Align internal stakeholders — Operations, Finance, People — on project scope
Manage change thoughtfully: communicate clearly with local teams impacted by restructuring decisions, ensuring people understand the rationale and next steps.
YOU’LL FIT GREAT WITH THESE SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience:
Degree or relevant experience in Operations, or a related field.
Proven track record in operational transformation, restructuring, or efficiency projects
Background in operations/blue-collar management, ideally in fleet management, logistics, or urban mobility.
Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders (like subcontractors or third-party logistics providers).
Skills & Competencies:
Strong project management skills: able to structure complex workstreams, manage competing priorities, and keep delivery on track.
Sharp analytical mindset — proficient in Excel/Google Sheets, comfortable with operational data, and able to translate numbers into clear recommendations.
Confident stakeholder manager: able to influence across levels, navigate sensitive conversations, and build alignment in ambiguous situations.
Hands-on and execution-oriented — you don't just advise, you drive things to completion.
Composed under pressure, with strong judgment and the ability to make decisions when it matters.
